The Opal Works is a creative project by yours truly, Jeni McClure.I am an American sewist & rugmaker working from my home studio in the seaside town of Hayama, Japan. Moving moons with me are my dear husband & sweet child. Home has worn many faces over the years, though we dream of someday settling beneath the changing seasons of New England.Now, about The Opal Works. This is essentially a space for my creative ideas that bloom beyond the scope of Superswoon. It is a sort of field journal that I'm filling with the experiences & reflections of my early-thirties.Here you'll see vintage-inspired Americana designs created to become cherished heirlooms. I am a maker primarily of handcrafted rugworks and sewn goods, thoughtfully made with upcycled fabrics whenever possible & materials sourced locally here in Japan.Dearly,
